Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Anchored Privacy's VPN and Private DNS services (the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. The Service

We currently offer two subscription tiers:

• Basic — encrypted VPN access.
• Premium — encrypted VPN access plus Private DNS.

Access is provided via WireGuard. After signup, we generate a configuration file specific to your account and deliver it to you by email (or WhatsApp, if you request it — see our Privacy Policy for the tradeoffs of each method).

3. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and WireGuard configuration file confidential. Your configuration file is intended for your personal use across your own devices only, and should not be shared with or resold to others. We reserve the right to suspend accounts showing clear signs of credential or configuration sharing that abuses the Service.

4. Subscription, Billing & Cancellation

• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• New subscribers are covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee. Contact support within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund, no questions asked. See our full Refund Policy for details.
• Prices are listed on our Pricing page and may change with at least 30 days advance notice to active subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Break the law, including engaging in fraud, harassment, or the distribution of illegal content
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our infrastructure or other users' accounts
• Circumvent reasonable technical limits designed to keep the Service fair and available for everyone

We built Anchored Privacy to protect legitimate privacy, not to shield unlawful activity, and we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Legal Requests for Data

Because of our no-logs policy, we do not retain browsing history, DNS queries, or connection timestamps tied to your identity — so in most cases, we have no activity data to hand over even if legally compelled to do so. Where we receive a valid legal request in South Africa for the limited account information we do hold (such as billing records), we will:

• Verify the request is legally valid before responding
• Disclose only the minimum information required by law
• Notify the affected user where we are legally permitted to do so

7. Service Availability

We work hard to keep the Service reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Planned maintenance, network issues, or circumstances outside our control may occasionally affect availability. We'll communicate meaningful outages where we reasonably can.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anchored Privacy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is," and while we take security seriously, no VPN or DNS service can guarantee absolute protection against every possible threat.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify active subscribers by email of any material changes before they take effect.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
